| hello world, i'm back! =) thanks for all of those that kept me in
your prayers as our team of 44 went down to mexico. your prayers
were definitely heard, and i was blessed as a result. god
protected us every step and taught me so much. if u want to hear
the details, please ask! here's a quick summary tho:
10 day trip from LA to Veracruz, to Zapoteco, to Oaxaca, to Minatitlan,
to Merida, to Tulum, to Cancun, to Mexico City, and back to LA. 8
FULL days of ministry and 2 days of debriefing/touring/traveling
home. boy was it exhausting!
God showed me how those with little are SO rich in heart, what true
hospitality looks like, how awesome prayer is, how living and active
the holy spirit is, how he is the same God across time, borders, and
language, how much fun it is to dance for the lord, how hungry people
are for the good news, how faithful the lord is, how God works in spite of
us, and most of all...how great is our God! =)
praise the lord! =)

| currently feeling: emotionally overwhelmed and physically exhausted
the past two days have been a blur...trying to pack up as much as
quickly as possibly, cleaning up con's apartment, moving moving
moving...interspersed with a graduation and meals shared with beloved
family and friends.
thank you SO MUCH for coming to support me at my graduation this past
saturday! =) all in all, it still feels a bit surreal...esp.
knowing that i have to go back to teaching my kids tomorrow
morning...haha! i'm not sure how to describe it, but as soon as
"the song" began, i felt my eyes brimming with tears. walking to
and across the stage i could hardly hold'm back...
this is IT guys! the two year journey, the heartache, the
physicaly strain, the homesickness, the lonely family holidays, the la
traffic...hehe...all coming to an end. when i look back, in my
head i think, gosh, it really wasn't that bad...but in the moments, i
know i've had my fair share of frustration and cries...but i pray God's made me stronger b/c it.
just want each of you to know HOW MUCH i appreciate you for all your
support and prayers...seeing my family, kevin, derrick, grace,
scott, will, rich, david, beata, mel, amy, esther, joan, angie, lisa,
auntie jenny, uncle richard, and timmy there on saturday just reminded
me how BLESSED i am. thank you for being in my life...thank you
LA girls for welcoming me and loving me as one of your own...thank you
grr & rich for all the times you lifted my spirits with the random
times u called me up or took me out. i've been looking forward to
going home for so long, but am thankful and sad that i've realized how
much i'm leaving behind...=( i don't know when the next time is
that i'll see u, my classmates, or our beloved advisor...but until then,
i'll be missing all of you...
wow, i'm graduated! =)

| a few reasons why i'm glad to be leaving LA "drivers":
1. many LA drivers need to go back to traffic school. when 2 cars
come to a stop at a 4 way intersection at the same time, the car on the
RIGHT has the right of way. LA drivers that i encounter seem to
repeatedly forget this courtesy.
2. if something, ANY, happens on the freeway...like a car exiting...ooh
la lah!...EVERYone must stop, slow down to 2mph, and watch. =P
3. when trying to make a left turn on an unprotected light, which
nearly EVERY one of them are, the car behind you will honk at you for
not turning while a slue of cars are going straight from the opposite
direction. yah, that makes A LOT of sense...
4. and lastly, the kicker that i can't stop laughing at...mom's that
push their baby carriages ahead of them into oncoming traffic while
trying to jaywalk across the street.
story: today a police car was charging down the street at full speed,
sirens wailing...the mom w/ the stroller stopped in the MIDDLE of the
street and just stood there and WATCHED while the police car slowed
down to a crawl and manuevered around her and the baby. i'm not
kidding..it was the middle of the street! she had plently of time
to at least attempt to back up a little toward the curb.
is there something in the water or something? i really don't get it...=P
